Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Tonic Works LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Fragments mobile application ("App", "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.
In the current version of Fragments, we do not collect, store, or process your personal data on our servers. Your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it. By using Fragments, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 We Do Not Collect Your Data
In the current build of Fragments:
- We do not collect your dream entries, fragments, titles, links, or any journal content.
- We do not collect analytics, usage data, or device identifiers for tracking or advertising.
- We do not require an account or sign-in. There is no registration, and we have no way to identify you.
2.2 Data Stored on Your Device
All dream data (fragments, titles, connections, settings) is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using the app's local storage. We do not transmit this data to our servers or any third party. There is no cloud sync in the current build. If you delete the app or lose the device, that local data cannot be recovered by us.
3. How We Use Your Information
Because we do not collect personal information from you in the current version of the App, we do not use your data for service provision, analytics, or marketing. Any data you create remains on your device and is used only by the App locally (e.g., to display your journal, calendar, and mind map). We do not send your data to our servers or to third parties for processing.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Where Your Data Lives
Your data is stored only on your device. We do not maintain servers that store your dream content. Local storage is managed by your device's operating system. Backups (e.g., iCloud Backup) are controlled by you and your device settings; we do not control or access those backups.
4.2 No Cloud Sync in Current Build
There is no backup or sync to our systems in the current release. We cannot restore your data if you lose your device or uninstall the App.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not collect your personal information in the current build.
5.2 Sharing You Control
Share feature: You can share a dream by generating a link. The link contains a compressed, encoded copy of that dream's content (fragments and connections). This is created on your device and sent only to people you choose (e.g., via Messages or Mail). We do not host or store these links or the content they contain on our servers.
Recipients: Anyone with the link can view that dream (e.g., in the App or on a web page we provide). Only the content you included in that share is visible; we do not add tracking or analytics to the shared view.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process (e.g., court orders, government requests). In the current build, we do not hold your dream data on our systems, so our ability to disclose such data is limited to what we actually possess.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Apple App Store
Download and updates are subject to Apple's privacy policy and terms. Payment for any future in-app purchases would be processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment details.
6.2 Device and Operating System
Your device may retain app data according to its backup and storage settings; we do not control that. Notifications use the device's local notification system. We do not send push notifications from our servers in the current build; there is no remote notification targeting or tracking.
6.3 No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs in the current version of the App.
7. Notifications
The App can show local notifications (e.g., daily reminder, streak reminders) if you enable them in Settings. These are scheduled on your device by the App. We do not send push notifications from our servers in the current build; there is no remote notification targeting or tracking.
8. Children's Privacy
Fragments is not directed at children. We do not collect personal information from any user; the App stores data only on your device.
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Access and Deletion
- Access: Your data is accessible only through the App on your device. We do not have access to it.
- Deletion: To delete your data, delete the App from your device. You may also delete individual dreams or fragments within the App. We do not retain copies of your data on our systems.
9.2 Sharing
You control whether and with whom you share a dream via the App's share feature. Do not share links with people you do not trust; anyone with the link can view that dream's content.
10. Future Versions and Premium Features
We may later offer premium features that involve cloud storage or sync (e.g., backing up your journal, using it across devices). Such features are not available in the current release of Fragments. If we add them:
- We will describe what data is stored, where, and how it is used.
- We will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for your consent before enabling cloud or account-based features.
- You will be able to choose whether to use those features.
Until then, this policy reflects a fully local, no-collection product.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
- Changes in our practices
- Changes in applicable laws
- New features or services (e.g., premium or cloud features)
We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Privacy Policy in the App or on our website
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the App.
